Have you ever wondered what it is like to breathe underwater? If you want to learn but you are not ready enough to take the big step in a certification course, “Discover Diving” lets you try diving to see if you like it.
The Dikelas Diving Center offers you this program, either in a pool or in another watercraft.
While not a true diving certification, during the Discover Diving experience, you will learn how to use diving equipment in shallow water and get a brief and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. Take the next step! Your experience can be counted on the PADI Diving Certificate or the Offshore Diving Certificate.
The diving equipment you will use.
All the equipment you will need is included in the “Discover Diving” experience. You will use all the basic diving equipment including a mask, snorkel, flippers, a diving jacket that also has a diving tank, a pressure regulator from which you will breathe and depth monitoring and air supply instruments. You will also wear a diving suit, monosort or a weight system.
What you will learn:
- What is it like to wear diving equipment and how easy is it to move underwater while wearing it.
- What is it like to breathe underwater and you will find out if you are comfortable there.
- Here are some basic safety skills and tips that will be covered in the full dive certification course when you take the next step.
Prerequisites:
- Knowledge of swimming
- You must be at least 10 years old.
